Day 46

The Pentecost Prayer Team | Day 46 of 50 | Day 6 in Acts 29 | Acts chapter 9:

At our Tuesday night Communion service, we read the lectionary readings for this coming Sunday, Pentecost. Jesus had told the disciples that he was returning to God the Father and that the Counselor would be sent. Always true to His word, the Holy Spirit came in a “new” way upon the gathering of disciples. Pastor Lloyd Ogilvie says that in his experience Christians have repeatedly voiced their desire to have the “power” to live the abundant life that Jesus spoke about in his teachings. This is true for me and I imagine it is true for you too.

Our faith is not just about getting into heaven. It is about kingdom living on this planet. It is counterintuitive, but the way to receive and manifest the power of God the Holy Spirit is by being submissive to God. God the Father who searches the heart knows the mind of God the Holy Spirit that intercedes for the saints (Christian believers) in accordance with God’s will. At the same time, God the Son, Jesus, who sits at the right hand of the Father, is our Advocate. At last night’s Bible study, I diagrammed this amazing truth from God’s word. Picture this in your mind. How can you not be encouraged?

Take hold of these promises.
